Many experts and consultants use themselves as the primary character in the email.
Most of the emails are monologues about them.
Their experience, their views, their opinions, and so on.
“When I decided to be a vegan, I was frustrated at the limited protein powders in the market that could support my vegan life-style. That’s when I launched my protein brand”.
You get the point.
And I don’t mean to say that these stories are inherently selfish. They are in service of the reader… yes. But because we are always so caught up in our head, the only good stories that we think we know are the ones that happen to us.
You get to use this story once. But not always.
We can add more dimensions to our content, by using stories that are not about us.
Feel free to feature other people. Collect their stories.
Research helps as well.
The reader is always looking to make his life better… and hence it does not matter if the story is about you or anyone else. What matters is that he connects with the character of the story, and how this character became successful.
