We’re obsessed with our ideas. We love geeking out about them, and we are excited to share the nuances of our craft with the audience.

But the audience?

They don’t care.

The audience isn’t where you are. They’re far, far away.

And when your ideas are all theory, it’s hard to resonate.

The solution?
Turn your ideas into stories.

What does your theory look like in action?

If you’re a productivity coach, don’t just say:
“Time block the first three hours of your morning for work.”

That’s too abstract. People will ignore it.

Instead, tell a story about Sarah. Tell us how she was cranky when she got up this morning. Tell us what her hair looked like. Make us smell Sarah’s coffee. Let us feel her guilt for not feeling productive.

Put us in the story.
