It’s in our nature to try to choose the safest option when it comes to producing meaningful.
Writing that book?
‘Make sure it’s not too long because everyone should be able to read it and write it.’
Designing a course?
‘Make sure that it’s not too tough so that everyone can attend it.’
Want to launch a product?
‘Make sure that it’s easy to use because we want everyone to use it… even if it means compromising on a few features.’
The problem with these statements is that they are based in fear. The fear exists because we want to fit in; we don’t want to offend people. We want to keep everyone happy.
When we try to keep everyone happy, we ourselves become unhappy.
Don’t try to be safe. Don’t try to hide. Unleash what is true to yourself.
